Overview

In the geotechnical engineering survey, the WPS type plate load tester is one of the earliest used and most widely used in-situ testing methods, which is suitable for shallow foundation soils.

Structural form: Umbrella frame type ground anchor reaction force device

Key points of operation of WPS flat load tester

The width of the test foundation pit shall not be less than 3 times the width or diameter of the bearing plate. Attention should be paid to maintaining the original structure and natural humidity of the test soil layer. The surface to be pressed should be leveled with coarse sand not exceeding 20mm thick.

The loading classification should not be less than 8, and the maximum loading should not be less than twice the design requirements. After each level of loading, measure and read the sedimentation at intervals of 10min, 10min, 10min, 15min, and 15min, and then measure and read the sedimentation at an interval of half an hour. When the sedimentation per hour is less than 0.1mm within 2 consecutive hours, it is considered to have trended. For stability, the next level of load can be added. Finally, the load test p-s curve is obtained.

The loading can be terminated when one of the following situations occurs:

1. The soil around the load plate is obviously squeezed out laterally.

2. The settlement s increases sharply, and the p-s curve appears a steep drop.

3. The settlement speed within 24h under a certain level of load cannot reach the stability standard.

When one of the first three conditions is met, the corresponding previous load is set as the ultimate load
